PT Application Karya Anak Bangsa, which was created by Nadiem Makarim, is the parent company of Gojek. Along with the expansion of the Gojek application, the name Nadiem Makarim is becoming more well-known among Indonesians.

His achievement in establishing the Gojek app has earned him the appointment as Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology by President Joko Widodo of the Republic of Indonesia. At the age of 35, Nadiem Makarim became the youngest Minister in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.

The Idea of GO-JEK

The GO-JEK transportation service was born out of Nadiem’s discussions with his regular motorcycle taxi drivers. He noticed via his talks with motorcycle taxi drivers that the majority of motorcycle taxi drivers spend their time waiting for passengers and have a tough time finding customers.

GO-JEK gained increased popularity in 2015, after releasing its mobile application, which drew an increasing number of new clients who utilized its services. Nadiem Makarim leverages technology advancements to make it simpler for users to access his GO-JEK services.
