2021 Wrapped

Since 2021 is coming to an end, let’s take a look back at some impactful events that occurred this past year!

  • In January, Kamala Harris became the first Female Vice-President of the U.S.
  • In February, tons of Myanmar citizens protested against the country’s military coup d’état.
  • In March, the #StopAsianHate movement was created as a response to anti-Asian racism.
  • In April, thousands of Indians bathed in the Ganges amid the ongoing pandemic.
  • In May, the awareness of cryptocurrency began to rise among Indonesian citizens.
  • In June, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics was held after being postpones for a year.
  • In July, Richard Branson and his crew travelled to the edge of space.
  • In August, Greysia/Apriyani won Indonesia’s first Olympic Women’s Doubles Gold.
  • In September, Squid Game was released and rapidly became Netflix’s No. 1 series worldwide.
  • In October, Princess Mako of Japan gave up her royal status to wed Kei Komuro.
  • In November, Barbados declared its independence from Britain as a republic country.
  • In December, New Zealand planned to ban cigarettes for generations born after 2008.
