5 Reasons Why You Must Global Volunteer

Perhaps the most dilemmatic question a University student will have during the holiday is deciding what to do for the next six weeks or so. From a trip abroad to helping underprivileged communities in rural areas, the options are too broad to pick. So why not choose both? While you’re volunteering for good causes, you too can gain international experience like you’ve never been before with our exciting Outgoing Global Volunteer. Read more to know about all the benefits you’ll gain from this exciting project!

Global networking

Ever dreaming of having real friends from various countries all over the world? Then there’s no better way to do it than to Global Volunteer. For the average of six weeks, you will be bonding with lots of other Exchange Participants or EPs from different countries for good causes. Since Global Volunteer is based on Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs, you and other EPs will be focusing on how to bring the best of your project and help make the world a better place!

Represent Indonesia to other countries

Because you’re only one among other Eps coming from different countries, you and other Indonesian EPs will have the chance to represent the culture of Indonesia at its finest. From the specified gatherings where all EPs will showcase their own culture to the smallest things you do for the project, you will be our ambassador for Indonesia and reflect our life as an entirety.

Develop yourself

Being away from home for around six weeks is not an easy job, especially if it is for volunteering activity in a place you’ve never been to. Doing Global Volunteer goes way beyond the travelling and volunteering. It develops you to be an independent person in which you will have to survive without the help of your parents, which brings us to the next benefit of GV.

Have a new family

Sure, you won’t be able to meet your own family for a couple of weeks, but that doesn’t mean you’d go friendless and without guidance for your daily routine. For most of GV activities, you will be assigned several EP Buddies and actual Host Family that will be your best companion for the remaining of your trip. We have been receiving positive feedbacks from those who have finished their Global Volunteering, and a Host Family along with your friends really leave a special place to your heart.

Polish your resume

Lastly, may I present to you the ultimate benefit of Global Volunteering everyone’s excited about: bragging privilege! Expect the next couple of months of yours full of storytelling about how exciting your GV experience was.
