BINUS Modelling Club 2024: Supporting MSMEs Through Fashion Show
BINUS Modelling Club organized a community service event to support local MSMEs through a fashion show with the theme “Empowering Local Brands.” The event aimed to help MSMEs promote their products while providing club members with real-world modeling experience.
Participating MSMEs
The fashion show featured four local designers showcasing their Muslim dress collections:
• Fashion by Hastapadma
• Fashion 30 OPD
• Fashion by Peri Elang
• Fashion by Derafi
This event not only provided a platform for local MSMEs to showcase their work but also had a positive impact on sales. Several MSMEs reported an increase in orders and gained greater attention from new customers after the event.
Testimonials from Participants and Visitors
Fashion show participant Divya shared, “This was an incredible experience! I learned so much about confidently presenting outfits on the runway.”
A representative from the MSMEs, Mrs. Nila, stated, “This fashion show truly helped us introduce our products to a wider audience. The collaboration with BINUS Modelling Club has been very beneficial for our business.”
Meanwhile, a visitor commented, “I was impressed by the designs presented by the MSMEs. This event was truly inspiring and made me even more interested in supporting local products.”
Contribution to Club Members’ Development
Beyond supporting MSMEs, this event also contributed to the development of BINUS Modelling Club members. They gained hands-on experience in handling a professional event, built connections with designers and fashion industry players, and deepened their understanding of how fashion shows play a role in the creative industry.
This fashion show proved that modeling is not just about walking the runway but also about strengthening the fashion ecosystem, connecting young talents with the industry, and supporting the growth of local MSMEs.
