Modelling 101: Empowering Youth through the Art of Confidence
Depok, 17-23 October 2024 – Modelling Club of Binus (MCB) successfully held its Community Service Program titled Modelling 101 at Panti Asuhan Karena Doa. This initiative was born from a desire to introduce the fundamentals of modeling to teenagers while fostering self-confidence, creativity, and self-expression in a nurturing environment.
In an era where the creative industry continues to grow rapidly, modeling has become a field that inspires many youths not only as a form of performance but also as a way to build character and soft skills. However, access to modeling education and resources remains limited in many communities. MCB’s Modelling 101 answered this gap by providing hands-on sessions filled with energy, empathy, and empowerment.
The objectives of this program were to:
- Introduce the basic principles and techniques of modeling
- Boost participants’ confidence, body awareness, and public speaking skills
- Encourage authentic self-expression through fashion and posing
- Foster teamwork and social responsibility among MCB members
During the five-day program, the children and teens of Panti Asuhan Karena Doa showed remarkable enthusiasm. From learning simple catwalk routines to practicing expressive poses and interacting in group activities, every session was met with joy and eagerness. Participants were encouraged to embrace their individuality while being supported by MCB members who served not only as mentors but also as caring role models.
This community service initiative also brought deep meaning to MCB members, who had the chance to step beyond their usual activities and contribute meaningfully to the lives of others. It strengthened bonds among the team and reminded them of the importance of empathy, communication, and sharing their passion with heart.
Through Modelling 101, Modelling Club of Binus hopes to have sparked confidence and creativity in the hearts of the young participants while also reinforcing its own mission of community and character development.
