In this modern-digital era, the role of IT auditor become very important, especially for a company. Having an effective audit system enables company to pursue and attain its various corporate objective. IT audit is the examination and evaluation of an organization\u2019s information technology infrastructure, policies, and operations. While the auditing itself means evaluating the effectiveness of a company\u2019s internal control in order to maintain an effective system of internal controls. An IT auditor determine whether IT controls protect corporate asset, ensure data integrity and are aligned with the business\u2019s overall goals, and is responsible for the internal control and risk of a company\u2019s technology network. The primary role of the IT auditor or an IT audit staff is to independently and objectively assess the controls, reliability and integrity of the company\u2019s IT environment. This role includes identifying the weakness in a system network and creating an action plan to prevent security violation in the technology, other than that, determine if the organization\u2019s IT procedures and controls meet the regulatory standard, examine. For simple, IT auditors will break down a company\u2019s technology system for review and then look more closely at certain components that are underperforming, causing problems or can be upgraded. All technologies are analyzed for safety and efficiency to making sure data is secure and being properly utilized, from there, auditors can draft a report to outline the findings and present recommendations based on their expert opinions.<\/p>\n

In order to be a professional IT auditor, there are several skills required, An IT auditor should have a solid communication skills, not only to understand the technical jargon, but also translate a technical jargon into business-related decision for management and client, and be able to consult with people across the entire organization chart. IT auditor must be an excellent investigator and able to focus their attention on large collection of information for long periods of time. IT auditor must also have a strong understanding of the fundamental of business, they are expected to advise business leader on how to bring company\u2019s IT strategies into alignment with the business goals.<\/p>\n
