Being on the committee for the IMCB 2026 EXPO on August 1, 2026, at BINUS Kemanggisan 3rd floor was one of my most memorable experiences while organizing. As a committee member, I got to see firsthand how an event that started as just preparation eventually became an activity full of new students’ enthusiasm. It felt good to be part of that moment.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since morning, me and the other committee members have been at the site to prepare the IMCB booth that carries the theme of Wonderland. We started decorating the booth, putting up decorations, arranging the equipment, and making sure all the needs were ready before visitors came. The process was quite tiring, but the atmosphere was full of jokes and cooperation. We help each other without being asked so that the preparation feels lighter.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When the expo finally started, the vibe totally shifted. New students started rolling in, and the third-floor hallway was getting packed. Our IMCB booth slowly filled up with people curious about the Wonderland concept we were showing off. That’s when I started my job of inviting new students to check us out and telling them about IMCB. At first, I was super nervous talking to so many strangers. But after a few chats, that nervousness slowly faded away and turned into confidence.<\/span><\/p>\n

I love it when I get to chat with new students directly. Everyone’s got a different story and reason for being there. Some were actively looking for an organization, others were just browsing, and some just stopped by because our booth looked cool. I tried to explain IMCB in a chill way while getting them to play our games. It’s so satisfying to see them smile, laugh with their friends, and then take home some merch as a prize. It feels good to see them enjoy the simple experience we put together.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Among all those visitors, I realized being on the committee wasn’t just about manning a booth. We had to remind each other, help out when friends were swamped, and make sure every new student who came by still got some attention. Sometimes the booth was packed with tons of visitors all at once, so we had to quickly split up the tasks. Even though it was pretty tiring, I actually loved the vibe because all the committee members stayed tight and supported each other.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another unforgettable moment was joining the parade with the whole IMCB committee. Walking together, showing off our organization’s spirit to the new students, felt really special. I could feel the positive energy from my committee friends, who were still super enthusiastic even though we’d been busy since morning. For me, that parade wasn’t just another event; it was a symbol of the teamwork we built while getting ready for the expo.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the event wrapped up and people started heading out, I finally felt how tired I was. But seeing our booth packed with new students all day made all the hard work totally worth it. I went home with so many new experiences, like learning to chat with strangers, working as a team, and realizing how much a friendly hello or an invitation to talk can make a positive impression.<\/span><\/p>\n

The IMCB 2026 EXPO taught me that being a committee member isn’t just about doing your job, but also about making things nice for others. I hope the new students who visit the IMCB booth remember the good vibes they felt that day and don’t hesitate to join the IMCB family. For me, this experience will be one of my most cherished memories of being in an organization.<\/span><\/p>\n

We’ve wrapped up the first expo batch and our organizing team is buzzing with new insights! We’ve pinpointed our strengths and areas for growth, from student engagement strategies to task delegation and making our booth activities even more captivating. These learnings are now the bedrock for an even more impactful second batch.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>For the second batch, we had a better handle on things. We were past the trial-and-error stage since we already had a clear idea from our last experience. Task assignments were more organized, and we felt more confident talking to the new students. We knew when to invite them over, how to explain IMCB in a good way, and how to make them feel comfortable talking to us.<\/span><\/p>\n

We saw real results. The IMCB booth was way more lively during the second round. Lots of new students came by, played games, checked out our stuff, and asked tons of questions about IMCB. Our team and the students had much better interactions too. Many students were genuinely interested in joining and signed up!<\/span><\/div>\n

Witnessing the growth from the first batch to the second was incredibly rewarding as part of the organizing team! We saw firsthand how our experience helped us improve, and the bustling booth and increased registrations were a direct result of everyone’s hard work across both batches. <\/span><\/p>\n

This experience taught me that an event doesn’t have to be perfect from the very start. What matters more is our ability to learn from experience, evaluate our shortcomings, and apply those lessons to future opportunities. For my fellow organizers and me, the second batch wasn’t merely a continuation of the first; it was proof that we could grow and work better together.<\/span><\/p>\n
