HIMSI\u2019s Welcoming Party is an annual event to welcome the freshmen into the English\u00a0 department and also to the English Department Student Organization of BINUS University<\/span> (HIMSI\/Himpunan Mahasiswa Sastra Inggris). <\/span>This year Welcoming Party\u2019s theme was \u201cY2K Glam\u201d and<\/span> this year’s Welcoming Party was celebrated on Saturday, 20th of September at <\/span>Creative Space Syahdan @ Syahdan Campus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This year’s Welcoming Party started at 12pm, it started with an opening from Ridwan and Rani as MCs and it continued with an opening speech from the Head of Department, Sir Irfan, next it was a speech from HIMSI\u2019s Student Organization Advisor, Miss Jess, followed up with a speech from HIMSI\u2019s President, Yuliana, and closed with a speech from this year Project Manager, Rayhanah.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After all the speeches, the HIMSI\u2019s DPI presented the introduction material about the English department and HIMSI. After all the material was done being presented, we had games for the next agenda. We played charades where one of the B29 was chosen as the model for each of the prompts that the event division has prepared. Next up we played charades but as a group where the B29 was divided into 4 groups and each group competed for points.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After the fun games, we took a break so B29 could eat, drink, pray, rest, and enjoy the photobooth. Once the break was over, we kicked off karaoke, singing and dancing to lots of 2000\u2019s hits. Sadly though, that was our last session, and it was time to bid our goodbyes to our beloved B29. Before we officially signed off, we wrapped things up with some final photos. This was a really fun and exciting way for us, B27 and B28 as the committee, to get to know B29, and we hope B29 enjoyed the party whilst getting introduced to the department and HIMSI just as much.<\/span><\/p>\n
