Although we’re far from October, it’s not wrong to bring the spookiness of Halloween to May! It’s Werewolf Night with Muhamad Ardan Abdilla as the PIC. Ardan is not alone in the preparation of the event. He received help from Naladevanka Dwilfia Annisa Punto, who served as the host, and Suryo Darundio, Jie Adi Julius, Handiko Wijaya (me!), Mariane Shania, also Belsa Azalia Leonita, served as the committee for the event. From the name of the event, Werewolf Night, I think it’s obvious enough. We played Werewolf and did some bonding activities.

The event started at 7 p.m., but the Zoom room opened at 6.50. The participants were greeted by an instrumental titled Sabilulungan. The committee waited for 10 minutes to let everyone join the Zoom. Before they delved into the event’s main activity, Nala asked the participants to fill out the attendance. After that, the event went into the introduction session. The question was, “What is your name, from what division, and give us a fun fact of yourself!,” Although many members keep saying, “I have no fun fact to share,” we still had a lot of fun. We learned more about HIMSI’s Troopers, and some have laughable fun facts! (Our HIMSI’s secretary, Nadia Salsabila, confessed that she is a weebs).

After the filler activities, we went straight into our main event, Werewolf! Nala explained briefly about the rules and roles description. Thanks to Ardan, Julius, and me, we can make the explanation as simple as possible for those who have never played Werewolf before. Next in the line is the actual gameplay. Ardan quickly gave the roles to each of the participants by texting them through Zoom’s private message. Those who got unique roles like the werewolf, seer, and guardian will be put into a separated LINE group to discuss their decisions during the night. The discussion during the day was so funny! I’m glad that most participants chose to open their mic and talk (as the committee, we were afraid that it would be so silent during the discussion). It was unfortunate for the villages in the first round, because the werewolves won the game.

Because the first round finished way too fast from the committee’s prediction, they asked the participants if they wanted a second round. With much energy, they all answered yes! Thus the preparation of the second round began. The music was being played in the lobby to wait for Ardan’s role management. The participants can freely request any kind of music from Handiko. At the same time, Nala opened up many topics, so the lobby didn’t fall silent. A few minutes passed, and Ardan was back with the assigned roles. With a newcomer, Dhea, as the new participant, Ardan also introduced a new role; the virgin.

Wistfully, the committee had to end the round due to the time limit, as it was almost 9 p.m. Before the closing, Nala promoted another Human Resource division’s project, Tell HR (this info will be uploaded soon, please check our website regularly!). Handiko also shared another event promotion, LDK Calon Pengurus, or what you guys know as HIMSI’s CREED will come soon! (again, we will inform the news on our Instagram and the report on our web!). A little insight for both events, Tell HR is a monthly project by the HR division. It’s a media for the Troops to share their feelings, either happy or sad. Or… they could just vent to us. They can choose to receive a response or not. For further information, please wait until we are ready to share it with you guys! As for HIMSI’s CREED, it’s the second part of the LOTr. In this event, the newly selected Troops will be trained to become the next coordinator and Board of Management for HIMSI in the future. The secretary of HIMSI, Nadia Salsabila, also said, “for Binusian 2024, this is a must event.” The vice president of HIMSI, Clara Nathania, also commented, “please sign up if you want to be the next HIMSI’s president!”.

We finally reached the end of our event. Werewolf Night was closed by a photo session. Afterwards, the committee gave the link for the second attendance list. In this link, the participants need to give their feedback on the event.

That’s it for the news. Please wait for the next HIMSI’s event! The next event will be handled by Raymond Franiko, a Binusian 2023 from the HR division.

Web Coordinator’s note: We are soon to enter June. With this note, I want to announce that HIMSI will accept short story and poetry submissions from now on, under the name Plethora of Words. Fingers crossed that HIMSI will upload three times in a week. For any submission, please text me (Handiko Wijaya) through LINE or click here.
