Tolerance: Dealing with Differences
Hi brothers and sisters in Christ!
We live in a world full of diversity🌏.From people of different shapes, different sizes, different hair colors, different skin types, different cultures, different religious beliefs, different values, etc. Although diversity is beautiful, it is also a common source for conflict❗️ Can you accept that someone thinks differently than you? Can you accept different perspectives from others? Or do you fight their way of thinking until they acknowledge that you are right?
According to Fairgaze.com, Tolerance is “the ability to respect other’s feelings and their opinions on a specific issue, despite having conflicting views of our own.”👫
As human beings which God has put on this earth, we must learn to co-exist with each other. This is everyone’s home, so we must be understanding, patient, and loving towards everyone despite having different views, and different beliefs.
What does the Bible say about Tolerance?
Romans 14:1-4 “As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls.” And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
May we all become more Loving, Respectful, and Understanding (LRU)💕 towards one another! Just as God loves us unconditionally.
God bless you!
