Friday Fellowship: Why am I going through this? (7th May 2021)

Thank you for those who attended the fellowship!

This friday was led by our Secretary, Melissa Chen (B24 International Business), where we talked about the reason behind why God allows us to go through hard life situations and tough circumstances (ie.difficult people, mourning, COVID-19, discrimination, being treated unfairly,etc).

God loves us and knows what is best for us. He lets us go through hard times to train us to become strong. It is just like how a father refrains from giving candy to his child all the time. God allows it because He knows we can get through it. Here are key bible verses from today:

James 1:2-4 “consider it pure joy, my brothers,when you encounter trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything”

Jeremiah 29:11 “for I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future”.
