What Does Good Friday Mean to You?
You might be wondering. “Why do we celebrate Jesus dying on the cross?”, why is it something that we celebrate?
Although the event of Jesus literally dying on the cross is not a good thing, but the message behind His death is the reason that we celebrate.Good Friday reminds us about the struggles and sacrifices of Jesus Christ. A perfect embodiment of compassion. He taught us the virtues of love & sacrifice. He gave up his very own life to save us from our sins. So that we can be together with God again.
As you know, churches would normally conduct Holy Communions where the whole congregation would hold up a piece of bread and a small cup of wine. The bread symbolizes the body of Christ and the wine symbolizes His blood that was shed on the cross. Why do we do this every year? To remember that Jesus died for us. He died as an completely innocent man. He did not deserve the punishment. But He took the punishment upon Himself.
The love that Jesus Christ has for humankind is infinite. His love is so great for us.
Let this be a reminder to reflect on the sacrifices Jesus has made for us. To reflect on His insane love for each and every one of us and love others just as He has loved us. Let’s follow his commandments to love and serve✨
