Being Patient: It’s Worth It to Wait!

With the pandemic still ongoing, there are ALOT of things that can cause anyone, from children, to parents, to teachers, to become impatient and lose our temper. From siblings, to staying at home more, to not being able to go to hang out with friends, to lockdown measures that come and go, to slow vaccine distribution process, to online university, to binusmaya forum, to FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), the list is endless!

Patience is defined as a quiet, steady perseverance, or bearing pain without complaining. This is one of the fruits of the spirit that God wants us to develop in ourselves. This is why, why God allows us to endure so many trials and bad situations in our life. Through this, God shapes us. We come out stronger than we were before. As it says in James 1:2-4 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything”

In 1 Timothy 1:15-16, Paul (one of Jesus’ disciples) said: ”Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.”

Jesus demonstrated His patience with Paul, who was the chief of sinners yet ultimately saved. God has been so patient with us we should be patient with others just like He has forgiven us so much we should forgive others and He has loved us so much we should love others!

God bless you!
