The term <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nusantara<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> now in Indonesia means is \u201cIndonesia Archipelago\u201d and in Malaysia, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nusantara <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">means is \u201cMalaysia Archipelago\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The first recorded use of the word <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nusantara<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is in an oath by Gajah Mada in 1336, written in old bibles name <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Paraton <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Negarakertagama<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Gajah Mada is a powerful military leader and prime minister of Majapahit in Java, Indonesia in the past. Gajah Mada became a powerful military leader and prime minister because he brought the empire to its peak glory. Gajah Mada delivered an oath called \u201cSumpah Palapa<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Where he stated: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sira Gajah Mada pepatih amungkubumi tan ayun amukita palapa, sira Gajah Mada: Lamun huwus kalah Nusantara ingsun amukti palapa, lamun kalah ring Gurun<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, ring <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Seram<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tanjungpura<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, ring <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Haru<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, ring <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pahang<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dompo<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, ring <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bali<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sunda<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Palembang<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tumasik<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, samana ingsun amukti palapa<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Which means that Gajah Mada vowed to not eat any food until he conquered all of Nusantara under the glory of Majapahit. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The term <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nusantara<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> word prefer to outer islands outside of Java under hegemony of Majapahit Empire. Ki Hajar Dewantara proposed this because the Ducth use word <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Indie<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> that mean <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hindia<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, which often is confused with the other region India. Because of that, Ki Hajar Dewantara proposed <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nusantara <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to become the alternative word of Dutch region in Indonesia. Then, Eduard Douwes Dekker introducing the term of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nusantara <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;Indonesi\u00eb&#8221; or &#8220;Insulinde&#8221;. Finally when Indonesia became an independent country in 1928, the term of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nusantara <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">never changed. Until now, the word <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nusantara<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is synonym with Indonesia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nusantara <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">now is associated with various main things like culture, anthropogeography, and even politics. In culture, the meaning is all of the culture, religion and art in Indonesia. In anthropogeographic, the meaning is geographical distribution of people in Indonesia. Then in politics, the meaning is the insight of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nusantara<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
