A malfunctioning elevator is arguably common, here are some tips of what you should do if you\u2019re trapped in one!<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Stay calm<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the door does not open, you are still safe. Let\u2019s say that five people got trapped in the elevator, it will begin to get warm if everyone is breathing heavily in a state of panic. Your best action is to remain calm, get comfortable, and wait for professional assistance. Just. Don\u2019t. Panic!<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Press the alarm button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The alarm button will notify the building management people of the malfunction happening. So press it!<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Don\u2019t play with the door<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Don\u2019t even try to exit the elevator even if the door was slightly open. If you try to pry the door open, it might make the elevator operable again in an abnormal manner, or worse, it might even fall. Whatever you do, don\u2019t leave the elevator because being still inside the elevator is safest.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>Don\u2019t jump up and down<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>When the elevator stops operating, some people may think jumping up and down will make the elevator operate again.
