This article will show you about some tips to choose a new laptop for programming. Since a lot of IT students didn\u2019t know what kind of specification that they actually need for programming, this is very good and important. In fact, they don\u2019t need a lot of money to buy a new programming laptop because some of them have an ideal price.<\/p>\n

So, here are some tips that you have to check before you buy a new laptop for programming:<\/p>\n

1. Random Access Memory<\/h3>\n

The first thing is choose the laptop that has a big\u00a0RAM, the bigger the better. As usual, programmer will always use a\u00a0<\/strong>virtual machine<\/strong>, and virtual machine takes a lot of RAM. The RAM that you need is at least 8 GB.<\/p>\n

2. SSD<\/h3>\n

First of all, I want to explain what is SSD and HDD. Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is a computer component that acts as storage for pc that has various capacity like 500 GB, 1 TB, etc. Solid State Drive (SSD) is just like a Hard Disk Drive, but it\u2019s faster because it contains a lot of physical memory chip, that\u2019s why SSD is faster than HDD. Second tips is try to find a laptop that can use\u00a0SSD<\/strong> because SSD can operate more quickly than HDD. Programmers doesn\u2019t need a lot of storage to save a file, but they do need speed to code effectively.<\/p>\n

3. Substitute CD\/DVD Drive with HDD<\/h3>\n

This is optional because for this era, CD\/DVD Drive is rarely used by a programmer. So, you can substitute it with a HDD\u00a0to make a big storage to save the program that you want to install.<\/p>\n

4. Keyboard<\/h3>\n

The fourth one, make sure your laptop keyboard is convenient to type on. You can even check the switch of the keyboard if it is necessary. As usual, programmer\u2019s activity is mainly typing. That\u2019s why it\u2019s important.<\/p>\n

5. Processor<\/h3>\n

Next one is the processor. For the processor, at least it has a baseline horsepower that\u2019s equivalent to an Intel Core i3<\/strong>. If yours are below that, your laptop will run slower than you expect it to, because it needs more speed to compile your code that you made.<\/p>\n

6. Graphic Card<\/h3>\n

Graphic card is not fully necessary, except if you are programmer for 3D applications. The reason is because in fact, you don\u2019t need graphic card capability at all during programming. You only need a high capability on RAM and Processor.<\/p>\n

7. Case Metal Laptop<\/h3>\n

In the future, programmer will spend a lot of their time in front of their PC or laptop. So, metal case laptop can be your priority. The reason on why you need it are because for the\u00a0product\u2019s longetivity<\/strong> and metal case can made the heat circulation from laptop better.<\/p>\n

8. Screen Resolution<\/h3>\n

Programmer will need a monitor with the high resolution because they will use the code that has a lot of small punctuation for coding. If the screen resolution is higher, it will be easier to see the small punctuation in your code.<\/p>\n
