What is the Internet of Things? The Internet of Things can change much about the world we live in. From the way we drive to work or school, the efficiency of a factory production process, or as simple as making beverages at home. The Internet of Things is the way chips and sensors in embedded system and the Internet working together, to provide useful information for its user, integrating greater capabilities.<\/p>\n

Here is one of the possible internet of Things application. Imagine an intelligent device such as smart traffic camera. The camera can monitor the road for congestion, accident, and weather condition and communicate street status to a gateway that combines it with data from other cameras, creating a smart city with traffic control system.<\/p>\n

The Internet of Things is beginning to grow exponentially, as consumers, business, and government recognize the benefit of\u00a0 connecting devices to the internet. By 2020, it is predicted that IoT would connect 50 Billion smart devices in the world. Thus, IoT would\u00a0 left a great impact in many sectors, such as home, government, and enterprise.<\/p>\n

There are many possible advantages of utilizing the Internet of Things, but there\u2019s also vulnerability that must be considered.<\/p>\n

Advantages: <\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Communication<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Internet of Things encourage communication between devices, hence providing better communication with lesser inefficiency.<\/p>\n

    1. Automation and Control<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      With Internet of Things, there\u2019s a lot amount of automation. Without human interaction, machines can communicate faster and more reliable.<\/p>\n

      1. Time and Money
        \nInternet of Things can reduce time and resoruces needed to accomplish a goal.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Disadvantages:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Compability
          \nCurrently, there\u2019s no international standart of compability for smart devices, leading to possible many ways of error.<\/li>\n
        2. Security
          \nWith all of datas that is transmitted over the internet. There\u2019s a huge threat on users privacy and security.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
