BNEC Social Event is one of the events at BNEC that focuses on bringing impacts to society by contributing various activities. Throughout this event, we hope that we, as a community, can transmit positive impacts, love, and kindness by providing the support they want and need to acquire a better life together. In 2023, BNEC successfully held a social event with the theme \u201cYour Voice, Our Equal Future<\/strong><\/em>\u201d, aiming the importance of ways to overcome gender inequality, as well as advancing empowerment and supporting human rights. The 2023 BNEC Social Event presented series of events, which include two seminars, workshop, talkshow, focus group discussion, online competition, comparative study, donation, and education in gender equality project.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Talkshow & Focus Group Discussion<\/strong><\/p>\n

Talk Shows and Focus Group Discussion are parts of the main event of the 2023 BNEC Social Event which aims to provide knowledge and information about gender equality issues. On October 28, 2023, a talk show namely \u201cProtecting Futures: Intervening Child Marriage Awareness\u201d were held, with our speakers Nicole Harry Tanada as a Public Speaker, Medical Content Creator and Founder of Helai Nusantara & Tumanakko.<\/p>\n

On November 18, 2023, the theme of focus group discussion \u201cBuilding a Safer Community: Collaborative Discussion for Sexual Abuse Awareness\u201d with two speakers coming from two different NGO\u2019s, including Ayu Nur Permana as Founder of Gender Talk and a Content Creator, and Eva Nurcahyani as a Coordinator of Lingkar Studi Feminis.<\/p>\n

Online Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 2023 BNEC Social Event held an online competition, which was video making. The competition was held with the same purpose of gender equality issues in Indonesia. Likewise, the topic provided for this competition is to comprehend more about the importance of gender equality.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Seminars<\/strong><\/p>\n

To increase awareness about productivity and time management, The 2023 BNEC Social Event held the first seminar with the theme of \u201cGetting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity\u201d. The second seminar also aims to spread knowledge on literacy financial, with a theme \u201cMoney Matters 101: Essential Lessons in Financial Literacy\u201d especially to university students in improving financial management. It was both interesting and educational events about management of productivity and financial.<\/p>\n

Workshop<\/strong><\/p>\n

This event held a theme of \u201cWebsite Development 101: HTML\/CSS Workshop\u201d with the aim of providing an introduction and teaching about the basics of HTML & CSS. Participants were able to learn a short teaching session and followed by a direct practice to create a CV (Curriculum Vitae) website using HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets).<\/p>\n

Comparative Study<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 2023 BNEC Social Event held a comparative study and discussion forum in cooperation with Solidaritas Perempuan Palembang, Mitra Wacana, Lingkar Studi Feminis, Kalyanamitra, and Yayasan Kesehatan Perempuan. In this comparative study, it discusses the urgence of gender inequality in Indonesia through the opinions and experiences of the speakers.<\/p>\n

Education in Gender Equality<\/strong><\/p>\n

This project was held for 2 days to teach about gender equality to middle school (SMP) students at SMPN 101 on 24th<\/sup> of October 2023 and at SMPN 229 on 23rd<\/sup> of November 2023. The project aims to spread awareness, increase student\u2019s knowledge and interest in learning about the issues of gender equality in Indonesia.\u00a0In this teaching project, we collaborated with Yayasan Kesehatan Perempuan and Kalyanamitra to provide materials study case of gender equality issues to solve in groups with the students.<\/p>\n

Donation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lastly, the donation event is where the representatives of the 2023 BNEC Social Event committee hand out the book donations to one of our partners\u2019 library, Kalyanamitra.\u00a0We hope that it encourages public interest in the emerging issues of gender equality in Indonesia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
