We are required to master foreign languages in order to compete with others. One of the crucial languages to master in the current era is English. English has been recognized as an international language since the 18th century, with over 50 countries formalizing its use and nearly 2 billion people worldwide speaking English. Many companies now require English proficiency when applying for a job. So, how can we master English without disrupting our other activities? Here are some easy ways to practice English without having to sacrifice other commitments.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>Reading<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Before speaking English, <\/span><b>it is crucial for us to have a solid understanding of vocabulary<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and how to use it correctly. One can accomplish this by <\/span><b>reading dictionaries or English books to discover new words<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and subsequently consult the dictionary for their meanings. Typically, English dictionaries also provide guidance on the usage of these vocabulary items, including verb tenses such as simple past, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>Simple past,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> This is a sentence that is used to describe an event that has finished happening in the past. Simple past sentences end with <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;-ed&#8221;.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><b>Past continuous, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sentences that express an event that happened in the past. Past Continuous uses the auxiliary verb<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> &#8220;be&#8221;.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><b>Past perfect, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A sentence that shows an action in the past that was completed before another action.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Past perfect continuous, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A sentence that shows an event that happened in the past but is no longer happening today.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Watch Movie<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you enjoy watching English movies, try watching them <\/span><b>without subtitles.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> This <\/span><b>can help improve your English listening skills<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Alternatively, you can also watch movies with English subtitles, as it can also be a way to practice your English. Similar to the first method, watching movies with English subtitles can enhance your listening skills and expose you to <\/span><b>new vocabulary<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> used in the movie you are watching.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>Speaking<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;Practice makes perfect&#8221; Try to speak English in everyday activities to other people. This <\/span><b>can help you remember the vocabulary<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> you have learned and increase your <\/span><b>confidence in speaking English<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Also, ask the other person for feedback on how you speak in English. If you are afraid to speak English with others, you can start by speaking to yourself in front of a mirror or recording it using a cellphone so that you can correct your English.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>Disabled Auto-correct<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The advancement of technology has indeed had a positive impact on our daily lives. Technological developments have made tasks more efficient and time-saving. One such advancement is the availability of auto-correct features on our devices. This feature makes typing easier, but it can also have negative effects. <\/span><b>Relying on auto-correct can make us less attentive to each word or reviewing our typing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. It is not uncommon for us to overlook missing letters (typos) because auto-correct highlights incorrect words and allows us to simply select the correct word.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">These are some of the ways you can practice your English speaking skills to become more fluent. The key is to be confident in speaking English or any other foreign language.
