Unlike International Children\u2019s Day which is celebrated on the 1st of June, National Children\u2019s Day is held on the 23rd of July.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So, what is the history behind this specific day? It all dated back during the time of President Soeharto\u2019s days at the office. During that period, the Indonesian Women&#8217;s Congress (Kongres Wanita Indonesia) initiated that there should be a National Children\u2019s Day. After successfully initiating, Children\u2019s Week (Pekan Kanak-Kanak) was officially established in 1952 and was celebrated during the second week of July.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4032\" aria-describedby=\"figcaption_attachment_4032\" class=\"wp-caption clear aligncenter\" itemscope itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/ImageObject\" style=\"width: 2500px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/student-activity.binus.ac.id\/bnec\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2021\/07\/goblue-world-childrens-day-sign-petition-WCD.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" itemprop=\"contentURL\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4032\" src=\"http:\/\/student-activity.binus.ac.id\/bnec\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2021\/07\/goblue-world-childrens-day-sign-petition-WCD.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2500\" height=\"1666\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"figcaption_attachment_4032\" class=\"wp-caption-text\" itemprop=\"description\">Sources : UNICEF Connect<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Fast forward a couple of years, Children\u2019s Week got re-dated to 1st-3rd of June to coincide with the International Children\u2019s Day.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Due to the removal and replacement of several policies from the \u201cOrde Lama\u201d including Children\u2019s Day,\u00a0 Children\u2019s Day later got replaced by President Soeharto in 1984 in accordance with the \u201cKeputusan Presiden RI Nomor 44 Tahun 1084\u201d.
