The School English Olympics is a new annual national competition hosted by BNEC Bekasi and is one of the most eagerly anticipated events organized by BINUS English Club (BNEC). This competition represents an innovative effort by BNEC Bekasi to foster the development of English language skills among Indonesia’s younger generation, particularly students at the junior and senior high school levels. It achieves this through a variety of competitions, including the Debate Competition and Storytelling Competition for Senior High School students, as well as the Speech Competition for Junior High School students.

The 2023 School English Olympics was successfully organized this year with the theme “Lexical Portal: A Gateway to Discovery” in collaboration with BINUS University @Bekasi. The theme of the 2023 School English Olympics signifies a “portal,” which can be seen as a gate that has been opened by BNEC Bekasi for public competitions for the very first time. This portal serves as an entry point to numerous opportunities that will unfold in the future. Moreover, “A gateway to discovery” reflects the fact that students have a new opportunity to enhance their skills, possibly participating in their first competition and discovering unexplored talents.

Champions of the Debate and Storytelling competitions will be awarded BINUS University @Bekasi Scholarships of up to 100%. Additionally, the School English Olympics provides valuable opportunities for participants to expand their networks as they interact and build connections with experts from various fields who participate in the competition as judges, coaches, media representatives, or sponsors.
