BINUS Debaters Journey at Khatulistiwa Debate Competition 2025

A group of enthusiastic students from various schools and universities across Indonesia prepared to showcase their oratory and critical thinking skills in the Khatulistiwa Debate Championship 2025. This prestigious national event, known for fostering intellectual discourse among young debaters, took place in August 2025 and was held online.

Among the participants are three students from Binus University: Kania Chiara Safina, Glenivan Nathanael Andi, and Karla Lita. These representatives joined the competition with great enthusiasm and determination. Although they put up a strong fight throughout the rounds, they ultimately did not secure a win in the championship.

The Khatulistiwa Debate Championship attracts talented students who engage in intense debates on contemporary social, political, and economic issues. Participants undergo rigorous training sessions to refine their argumentation, public speaking, and teamwork abilities. The event offers a valuable platform for students to develop confidence, analytical skills, and a deeper understanding of global and local challenges.

Organizers emphasize the importance of this event in nurturing the next generation of leaders and critical thinkers. Students who join the championship compete not only for trophies but also for the opportunity to represent Indonesia in international debate contests.

As excitement builds, schools and debate clubs nationwide continue to encourage more students to join the Khatulistiwa Debate Championship, marking it as a highlight in the academic calendar of 2025.
