BINUS UNIVERSITY TAKES OVER OPEN DEBATER LOUNGE 2024

In the recent months from May to July, BINUS University has won several streaks of debate competitions from ALSA UI to a national-scale debate competition such as NUDC and E-Sanctuary. In the beginning of August, BINUS University has won yet again, a streak in Debater Lounger’s Open Lounge 2024. Held online on August 10–11 via Zoom, the competition is filled with passionate participants and thrives as it always has. 

BINUS University sent over three teams and six speakers in total. Each team consists of Jennifer Marcellyn Cen and Rachel Chen, Christ Santus Burhan and Carrissa Gloria Herman, as well as Calista Abigail Prayugo and Rani Dahayu Cahyaningtyas. During the two day long competition, each team fought for the podium to represent the name of BINUS University. 

Team BINUS A achieved the 2nd Runner-up

After days of hardwork and perseverance, BINUS University reached the 2nd Runner-up as the Closing Opposition (CO) from the team BINUS A, achieved by Jennifer Marcellyn Cen and Rachel Chen. Respectively, both team members have reached the title of 4th Best Speaker and 2nd Best Speaker respectively. Their victories are celebrated among everyone who is overjoyed for another winning streak.

The Open Lounge Debate 2024 has served as another bright beginning for BINUS University in the new month ahead. This event shows that BINUS University will continue on making achievements among their students. Especially to the best speakers from the BINUS A Team, Rachel Chen and Jennifer Marcellyn Cen who will bring BINUS University’s name to its glory and as a representation of our competitive spirit in and out of campus. This achievement is a good start to kick off the month of August for more achievements ahead and hopefully, in the future of BINUS University.
