Discovering Hope Amidst Despair: Message Behind Ariana’s Latest Album, “Eternal Sunshine”

The exclusive album cover of Ariana Grande’s latest release, “Eternal Sunshine”.

Who hasn’t heard of Ariana Grande’s latest album, “Eternal Sunshine”? This album went viral recently, captivating its audiences with the gut wrenching lyrics accompanied by light harmonies, making this album stand out from any other work of hers. This album showcases lyrics that describe raw vulnerability when facing life challenges, while at the same time striving for inner peace and happiness.

One of the standout tracks from the album is “we can’t be friends (wait for your love)”, a powerful anthem that addresses the false rumors spreading about Ariana herself, when she was labeled as a “homewrecker” by the whole internet. One of the lyrics stood out from the song, “Just wanna let this story die” followed by “And I’ll be alright”. This means that she wants to let the rumors die, and then she will finally be okay. Besides that, Ariana also wrote this song because she wanted to create something that most listeners could deeply resonate with. Personally, I find myself relating to this song, and I saw that in the social media app, TikTok, people are talking about how they relate to the song as well. Ariana’s ability to connect with a mass audience is evident, since most people address their own feelings of resonance with the song on multiple platforms, one of them being TikTok. An example of that is shown in the image below.

Honestly, it’s so hard to pick the best song from the album because everything seemed to be perfect! Yet, among the album’s highlights is “bye”, a deeply personal track that I recommend to people who have finally decided to move on from their past relationship and went through with it! The lyrics “This ain’t the first time I’ve been hostage to these tears” continued with “I can’t believe I’m finally movin’ through my fears” shows that no matter how much pain you endure, especially during a relationship, no matter what the cause is, you will be able to face your fears, which is letting them go. Maybe you felt like you were the only one working on the relationship, or the other person didn’t really show that they liked you the way you liked them. However, in the end you will be able to let them go. It will set you free from the toxic attachment to that person. Maybe it’s bittersweet, but Ariana herself stated that it is better to feel bittersweet rather than staying on the same toxic loop again and again and again. There’s a powerful message behind the track titled “bye”, which is empowerment and self-discovery, relatable to anyone who has experienced heartbreak and is striving for personal growth

Another standout track is “don’t wanna break up again”. This song’s message tells us to never abandon our personal life again for others. It’s about how we should choose to heal ourselves by not abandoning ourselves to other people again even if it must make us leave the person we love. It shows positivity, the light at the end of the tunnel, a story that the singer herself went through. Ariana Grande showed us in this song the amount of hurt she felt when she abandoned herself and her wellbeing for someone else. In the end, she has to choose herself, by letting the relationship itself end.

What an outstanding album! So, how about you, do you personally resonate with any track from Ariana’s latest album?
