  • World’s largest chocolate egg was made in Italy. 

The world’s largest Easter chocolate egg was made back in April 2011 in Italy. The chocolate egg weighed 7.200 kilograms with a height of 10 meters.

  • Giving an egg is a symbol of “rebirth” in many cultures. 

Eggs in many places around the world symbolizes new life, rebirth, and fertility. Because of its round shape, eggs are also used as the symbol of earth and our connection to the nature.

  • The Easter Bunny legend was originated from Germany.

The origin of the Easter Bunny dates back hundreds of years, beginning in pre-Christian Germany. The hare was said to be the symbol of the Pagan Goddess of Spring and Fertility.

As Christianity spread across Europe and eventually around the world, Pagan traditions were blended with Christian holidays, which connected to Easter. Nowadays, eggs are substituted with chocolate to be given to children who are well-behaved on Easter Sunday.

  •  Pretzels used to be associated with Easter.

 Some of you might be wondering why pretzels? It all started back in the 1950s in Germany where it was a tradition for them to eat a pretzel and a hard-boiled egg for dinner on Good Friday. It is believed that pretzels are associated with Easter because the twists resemble arms crossing in prayer.
