<\/a><\/p>\nHave you ever felt that you need to do something productive during your holiday, but ended up just lying down in bed? Well, we all deserve some rest, but it is different with being lazy, which does not take us to a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment. At the back of our minds, we know that we should be spending our time doing something worthwhile and making impact to the world, but by the time we finally gather our energy to do it, it is already the time to face the reality and go back to the university. Worry no more because AIESEC have a program called Global Volunteer.<\/p>\n
Being a global volunteer does not mean you spend months on end volunteering. The activity is for a limited period of time, for example during the length of one\u2019s semester break, so there is a clear timeline and does not bother your university courses schedule. It involves working on diverse community projects in different parts of the world, whether it be Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and even a European country.<\/p>\n
So, why is global volunteering productive and impactful? Here are the reasons why.<\/p>\n
1. <\/strong>M<\/strong>ore than travelling<\/strong><\/h4>\n\u201c<\/strong>Two roads diverged in a wood and I took the one less travelled by, and that has made all the difference.\u201c (Robert Frost)<\/h4>\nVolunteering gives you a chance to explore a new country and its culture in a different way than by just travelling and sightseeing. You can get a chance to get away from your hometown and live in a country you\u2019ve never lived in. Doing a volunteer shows you the country from inside out, allows you to get to know the culture, foods, locals and their habits. You will see places and areas you would never have the possibility to go to as a tourist. Some people might have travelled the country, but in doing a volunteer, they sometimes feel they are there for the first time.![\"\"](\"http:\/\/student-activity.binus.ac.id\/aiesec\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/53\/2020\/03\/1.jpg\")

Your reason for volunteering should begin where your passion lies. Let your love for animals, teaching or public health creates positive impact in the world. Allow your actions to be led from a place of passionate intention. That way, all the hard work will be worth it, you will be more committed to the cause and as a result, your impact will be that much bigger.<\/p>\n

It can be so amazing for a child to meet a person from another country who has come over to help them.
