Who says sustainability can\u2019t be cool? <\/span>You wouldn\u2019t believe it until you see Coldplay’s new world tour concept. After four years’ absence from touring, Coldplay made an impressive comeback by bringing up a sustainable tour concept with amazing idea.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

COLDPLAY WORLD TOUR SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES PRINCIPLE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reduce: <\/strong>Cutting the consumption <\/span>and CO2 emissions by up to 50%.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reinvent: <\/strong>Develop new ecological technologies <\/span>and implement innovative methods of sustainable tourism.<\/span><\/p>\n

Restore: <\/strong>Making the tour more beneficial for nature, by funding a portfolio of nature and technology-based projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

REDUCING CARBON EMISSIONS THROUGH SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL PLANS\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Coldplay will primarily<\/span> rely on commercial flights <\/span>while <\/span>utilizing <\/span>electric vehicles or biofuel for ground freight and transportation. <\/span>To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, they collaborated with Nestle in <\/span>adopting a Sustainable Aviation Fuel<\/span> that produces 100% from waste and residues. In partnership with SAP, Coldplay also <\/span>developed a carbon tracker app <\/span>and gave a merchandise discount reward for fans <\/span>who commit to use <\/span>low-carbon transport.<\/span><\/p>\n

REINVENT NEW GREEN TECHNOLOGIES TO SUPPORT THE CONCERT<\/strong><\/p>\n

A kinetic dance floor<\/span> and <\/span>electricity-generating pedal bicycle<\/span> will be installed at the concert to promote fans\u2019 involvement in creating a sustainable concert experience. These installations <\/span>will<\/span> convert the fans\u2019 dancing and cycling activities into energy to help power the show.<\/span><\/p>\n

RESTORING THE EARTH BY USING BIODEGRADABLE MATERIALS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Most of the concert attributes will be produced by using <\/span>eco-friendly materials. <\/span>The stage<\/span> will be constructed from a combination of lightweight, <\/span>low-carbon, reusable and recycled materials.<\/span> The <\/span>LED wristbands and the confetti <\/span>will be made from <\/span>100% compostable, plant-based materials.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We could stay at home and that may be better. But we want to tour and we want to meet people and connect with people – so try and do it in the cleanest way possible.” <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
