Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes the immune system to attack healthy cells and tissues. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span class=\"WdYUQQ text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\"><span class=\"WdYUQQ text-decoration-underline text-strikethrough-none\">Despite the challenges she faced, <\/span>she has continued to use her platform to raise awareness and funds for lupus research. She even launched the Selena Gomez Fund for Lupus Research at the University of Southern California to support research and treatment programs. Selena&#8217;s advocacy has brought more attention to the disease and has helped to reduce the stigma surrounding it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span class=\"WdYUQQ text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">The <\/span><span class=\"WdYUQQ text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">purple ribbon<\/span><span class=\"WdYUQQ text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\"> is the symbol for lupus awareness, and wearing one is a simple but powerful way to show support for people living with the disease.
