At that time, I have no idea what AIESEC is, nor how the selection process would go. I just thought: \u201clet me just try joining AIESEC\u201d.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"M7eMe\">Why did you decide to develop your leadership skill in AIESEC in BINUS?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The experience AIESEC gave me. I have never been a \u201cgo out of your comfort zone\u201d person in high school, but one thing led to another and I was forced to go out of my comfort zone. Turns out, going out of my comfort zone developed me for the better. I learn new experiences, whether it\u2019s good or bad. Joining AIESEC was one of my goals to take up more new experiences, and as I became a member in AIESEC, I realized how different it was. AIESEC is different from any experiences I have taken up so far. It is more challenging, professional, and structured. This is why I wanted to give up at first. However, as I look back, the experiences I got are also unparalleled. Not only the experiences, but also the people in AIESEC. The people I met in AIESEC have been very supportive and amazing. This is why I chose to continue to develop my leadership in AIESEC.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"M7eMe\">Who is your role model that motivates you and keeps you innovating at AIESEC?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>My former Vice President of Talent Management, Kak Lula. She was super welcoming when I first entered TM as a staff. Although she was a VP, she was very approachable and friendly. She set bold changes and conditions from her previous term, that made AIESEC in BINUS better, especially from TM. I learned a lot on how to be a good leader by watching her. As I become a VP, I realized all the tasks she had to do that was not mentioned to us (as staffs). She tried her hardest to make all of our experiences great, while not burdening us with loads of tasks. Based on her approach to us before, I had the foundation on how to become a (hopefully) good VP to my TLs and staffs, as well as all members of AIESEC in BINUS.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"M7eMe\">When did you realized that AIESEC truly helped yourself to grow?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the end of my first term. Becoming a member of AIESEC is not always sunshines and rainbows. There are some tough time that not only me, but all the members in AIESEC had to go through. During my first term, I didn\u2019t got the chance to reflect on what had changed in me. I just focused on getting my job done. It was during the end of the first term, when I had officially became the vice president elect of TM, that I noticed how far I\u2019ve changed. 17-year old me would never even dare to apply to become an LCVP. 17-year old me would prefer to just stay in a position where I knew what to expect. 17-year old me would not be brave enough to become a leader. It was then that I looked back at myself and thought \u201cso this is the growth I got from AIESEC\u201d.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"M7eMe\">In your opinion, where this leadership experience will take your step further ?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I believe this experience helped me to become stronger, more understanding, and confident. I think these are important to me for my future, and through this experience, I have gotten these growth.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How you gain your motivation back when things get tough?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Take time for myself. At times like this, I would \u201cdisappear\u201d from any online presence, and just do things I like, such as re-watching Modern Family, walk, or sleep. Ranting to friends also helps a lot too, and they can give me a fresh perspective from outside of AIESEC. However, I would say the biggest motivation I have is from my teammates! At times when I felt like I can\u2019t do all the tasks, I would always see them working their hardest, and that reminds me that I am never alone. I have my teammates, EB mates, and all members from AIESEC in BINUS to count on. I am not doing this alone, but we are doing this together.
